Process Engineer

Responsibilities:

  •   Plan, develop and successfully execute projects or areas of large projects and/or programs.  Lead complex projects that are critical to site business plans and product launches.  Provides significant contributions on project teams and may lead multi-functional teams, as well as mentors and guides junior staff.   

  • Accountable for effective implementation and sustaining T0-T2 continuous improvement (CI) processes identification, management and execution of CI projects. 

  • Identification of CI opportunities to improve OEE/RTE and schedule adherence to meet improvement targets. 

  •   Coaching of use in lean/six sigma tools in Tier 1, Tier 2 to support continues improvement. 

  •  Execution of improvements projects aligned with business strategies. 

  •   Accountable for delivery against Budget CIP commitments. 

  • The incumbent is a member of the Operations Leadership Team and can act on behalf of Operations Manager, as needed. 

  • Leads troubleshooting efforts of equipment and process-related issues and deviation investigations. 

  • Analyses process requirements and evaluate equipment and systems to ensure deliverables meet or exceed process specifications and manufacturing requirements.   

  • Evaluates and recommends new process technologies that optimize performance, are cost effective, and will improve product quality and manufacturing processes and to improve product/process quality, consistency, productivity, efficiently, and risk levels.   

  • Expected to successfully execute projects or areas of large projects.  Provides significant contributions on project teams and may lead multi-functional teams. 

  •  Responsible for the implementation of lean/six sigma tools across T0-T2 and the sustainability of elements across all Process Centric Teams. 

  • Responsible for role card maintenance/ updates as performance improves and processes change (while ensuring QA compliance is maintained) as well as role card data capture and digital storage. 

  • Monitors and reports potential EHS and quality related incidents.    

Qualifications Requirements/Knowledge/Education/Skills:

  •    BS/MS in industrial, electrical, mechanical, or chemical engineering.   
  • BS with +5 years of relevant experience in a pharmaceutical or other compatible industrial, chemical or food industry, directly supporting the design and implementation of process equipment and piping systems.  
  • Position requires technical, safety and cGMP training. 
  • Green Belt /Black belt certified 
  • Project Management experience

Physical Requirements and Working Environment:

 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate equipments, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, talk, or hear; sit; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and smell. The employee may lift and/or move up to 25-35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • He / she may frequently work inside weather conditions, near moving mechanical parts, exposed to wet and or humid conditions, and an odorous atmosphere, may be exposed to fumes and the risk of electrical shock, and occasionally work on ladders in high places, in small spaces, such as lift/metering stations, manholes, tanks and wet wells. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud.
